In early November I sent out into the community ether a blog post with 20 questions pertaining to year 1 of the game, and gave readers the chance to vote on their favourite things. After just over a month of the polls being open, the results are in.
For those of you who didn’t see the original post, the questions (like most things on this blog), were focused more on fun and theme over power and tactical ability.
So lets take a look at what the community (at least, the portion of the community that voted) liked the most from the first year of the game.
Q1. Which Character Model is Your Favourite Sculpt?
I thought the top 3 would have been Miles, Ghost Rider and Doctor Strange, so I was surprised to see Kingpin and Thanos above the good doctor. Maybe people just love the cocky attitude on them both. I’m pleased to see Corvus Glaive up near the top too, I love that sculpt.

Q2. Which is Your Favourite Leadership Ability?
Just to reiterate, this was favourite to play, not what people thought was the most powerful. Personally, I think it is great to see Avengers at the top of this list. That a core set affiliation ability is rubbing shoulders with other powerful abilities such as Defenders and Criminal Syndicate is , I think, testament to the games design. Surprisingly there was not much love for Wakanda, Black Order and Spider-Foes.

Q3. Which is Your Favourite Affiliation to Play?
For me, this was one of the main questions. Ultimately, whether we are diving deep into tactics or just rolling dice with friends, I believe we all play games because we enjoy them and we want to have fun, so I was interested to see what people were having the most fun playing. I must confess, I was very surprised at how high Web Warriors scored. I don’t have a great deal of experience playing with this team, maybe I need to get them on the table a bit more. I do love the Defenders team though, so was glad to see it scoring so high – Ghost Rider alone is fun as heck! Again, Spider-foes down near the bottom, perhaps this is just because we are waiting on characters like Carnage and Mysterio to fill out the ranks.

Q4. Which of the Affiliation Leaders is Your Favourite?
I’m really not surprised to see Doctor Strange at the top of this list, everything on his card is fun to do; he really ran away with it, getting just over 27% of the total vote. I thought Thor would be up there too, but was surprised with how high Kingpin climbed. I haven’t picked up any of the Criminal Syndicate team yet due to my wife getting laid off from her job, but maybe I need to give them a try when she is back up and running. Not much love for Red Skull though…

Q5. Which is Your Favourite 2 Point Character?
I honestly didn’t have any idea who would win this, although I suspected that Nebula would be at the bottom considering some of her abilities seem very divisive in the community. It doesn’t surprise me to see Rocket at the top, but I was quite surprised to see Okoye just beating out Black Widow. Man, I need to play Okoye more as right now I can’t even remember what she does!

For me this is a tough question to answer. I would probably flit between Ghost Rider and Doctor Strange at the moment. There’s a lot of love for Daredevil though, as well as older characters like M.O.D.O.K and Venom; and it’s good to see some love for Peter Parker too. No love for poor Proxima Midnight though. Don’t be blue Proxima, I still love you.

Considering how little love Wakanda got in the affiliation questions, it is a little surprising to see Wakanda Forever topping this list. But then again, when you slap that bad boy down on the table you do feel rather good about it. I think I voted for Odin’s blessing, the ultimate smug card, although I am also partial to a little Pentagram of Farallah every now and then.
