Season 4 Episode 3 – Quotemyname v Esmond
Quotemyname here! The dust has settled on TTS for the first half of the latest league. In my case, the dust has settled after several Asgardian hammers crashed into the area.
My opponent this week was Esmond. He almost needs no introduction at this point seeing as his is one of the few names on the floating plaque inside the TTS mod! But I am happy to be one of the first people that Esmond got to play against when we joined our little community. Check out the latest recording of our game in round three of the TTS league.

Some parting thoughts:
Okay, so, Enchantress is strong. Really strong. She’s a unique character, and thinking about how she affects matchups really throws me for a loop. I was expecting my opponent to play Mystique and Deception. But I should have known he probably doesn’t need it to make the game work.
I did quite a bit of planning before this game. I learned a lot when thinking about how many points I needed to score every round to stay ahead of my opponent. I learned that when you’re in a crisis that has less points up for grabs, every single point really matters and its even more important that you don’t let them slip away.
Finally, and I think this is my most sweeping observation: The Priority roll doesn’t always matter a lot. I think the data shows that players winning games usually win prio around 50% of the time. So the statistics back that up. However, I think there are very specific matches or crisis combinations where being able to win prio really sets you up with an advantage. I think this is one of those combinations. At the risk of giving away all of my secrets, I think my list specializes in creating an early advantage in points via either extract or secure and riding that train to victory. If I cannot get ahead early on in the game it hampers my ability to carry each match to a “W”. So, I’ll be thinking about that quite a bit as we move into the second half of the season.
Next up will be list changes, and if I’ve got time, perhaps an explanation regarding why I’m making a bit of a pivot.
