Welcome back! Today I’m going to go over my performance in the MCP TTS League’s seventh season, what I’ve liked, what I’ve learned, where I made mistakes and where does that leave me.
In my first round, I was paired against someone playing Avengers who’s roster was leaning a lot on high threat models, which I think gave me an edge as I was playing a more mid-range list of characters (mostly 3’s and 4’s) and I ended up winning my first game.
In my second match, I was pitted against a fellow X-Men player. Luckily for me, my version of X-Men was more mobile than my opponent’s which I successfully used to secure another victory.
Game #3 was not as successful. I was playing against Criminal Syndicate which I knew from the start was not a good matchup. I ended up playing X-Force in a set up where I was a lot less comfortable with and made little mistakes that compounded and cost me the game.
Credit to all my opponents, they were all very nice during and after the games and contributed to the overwhelmingly positive experience I have with the MCP communities both online and in person.
As for mid-season roster changes, I thought about making some changes but ended up doing almost none. I thought about swapping Cable for Cyclops to give myself another affiliated 4 threat but settled against it because I valued Cable’s range, mobility and his throw enough to keep him on the team. I thought about swapping Blind Obsession for Jonathan the Unstoppable but opted against it because I haven’t played it enough yet to be sure it was the right decision. So I took out Follow Me, mostly because it never made my 5 cards for X-ceptional Healing which I already liked a lot with X-23 and Honey Badger since it gives them a lot more resiliency and board presence.
So here’s my updated roster.
